Mike Sawyer started his racing career back on August 18th, 1995, the exact day he received his driver's license. He began racing the family's 1967 Camaro, Sudden Impact I, and later purchased his own 1967 Nova which he raced in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He sold the car at the end of the 2000 season. He is taking the 2001 season off from driving so that he can concentrate on helping Ray with the 2000 Camaro while he saves money to build a new car. Mike was runner-up at the 1998 IHRA North American Nationals in Super Rod and has won 4 VP Fuels ET Series races in his short career along with many gamblers races and 3 NED Major Events. In 1997, Mike finished 4th in New England Dragway points. He has been a best of 9.57 @ 139 in the 1967 Camaro, 9.04 @ 147 in his 1967 Nova, 8.88 @ 153 in the 1987 Firebird, 8.65 @ 156 in the 2000 Camaro, 8.32 @ 162 in Rick Bell's dragster, and 8.38 @ 162 In Eddie Iannotti's Beretta.

Mike graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, MA with a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems. He owns his own business, Sawyer Sites, where he works as a web developer. Mike resides in Rollinsford, NH.
