Sudden Impact IV - 2000 Chevy Camaro

Ray's 2000 Camaro was built by Dan Page Race Cars for the 2000 season. Rick Bell applied the paint, designed and lettered by Bruce Deveau. The car is powered by a 1030 horsepower Reher-Morrison 565 Big Chief motor, with 14 degree Oldsmobile heads and single 1150 Holley carb.

Harnessing that power is a Select Performance 9" Torque Converter and Select Performance Powerglide transmission transfering power to a Mark Williams 9" rear end with 4.10 gears. The Power is applied to 16.5" x 33" Hoosier Tires.

For electronics the car features a Biondo Racing Products Mega 300 Delay Box/Throttle Stop Controller, a QuarterPro shifter, a #1 Stop Throttle Stop, MSD Ignition powering a Mallory Crank Trigger, and an Autometer Data Aquisition System.

In terms of performance, the car has run best times of 7.82 seconds at 175 Miles Per Hour out the back door, and has run as fast as 168 miles per hour at 9.90 and 173 miles per hour at 8.90.

The car has received "Best Appearing Car" at the 2000 Lebanon Valley Divisional Race, "Best Engineered Car" at the 2001 IHRA Empire Nationals in Leicester, NY, and Best Appearing and Best Engineered at New England Dragway. Ray also won Super Gas at the Lebanon Valley divisional race in 2001, as well as at the Atco Raceway National Open, finishing 5th in NHRA Division 1 Super Gas.
